It's an action game and the second title in the Bleach game series. As compared to the previous game, the game introduces new characters, adds new modes and new moves. Dark Souls includes a storyline that takes place in between the first two seasons of the anime series, from which it takes inspiration. The Story mode consists of tutorials, one-on-one, two-on-two, and many fighting styles. It also includes several missions like item collection missions, hazard evasion, and a quiz show that require the players to stand on a specific area and answer a question shown on the screen and all while playing within the 2D fighting engine. As the player progress through the story, it grants them special unlockable or money. The gameplay of the Bleach - Dark Souls is solid. The action happens on the DS's top screen, and the player can control the game with the d-pad and the shoulder and face buttons. The game also has various cards. These cards have specific effects, like restricting the opponent's ability to run or jump, decrease the attack or defence. There is an online mode where the player will have the most fun in the long run.

Game Plot

The game takes place after Aizen's defection from the Soul Society. There is a festival, Ichigo and the others also attend. However, a member of the Department of Research and Development accidentally uncovers some unique Mod Souls. Kai, one of the Mod Souls, takes the researcher's form and takes other Mod souls with him. Some of the Mod Souls get filled with hatred and transforms into Hollows, such as Grand Fisher, Shrieker, and cause havoc.

• Core Action : The action of this game is fantastic. Each of the game's characters has a bunch of abilities and special attacks. They can dodge, air-dash, double jump, hop back and forth, and many more. They can also perform multi-hit combos.

The player has to construct decks of spirit cards, and these contain all types of powers like slow down, lower his defence, force the opponent into a crouching stance, and so on.
