Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, released in the year 2009, is a tactical role-playing video game under the Megami Tensei series. Atlus developed and published it for the Nintendo DS. The game takes place in modern-day Tokyo and follows a 17-year-old student and his friends. They all see the demons outbreak, and then some of them later become their allies. The protagonist also discovers that he has the power to see the remaining lifespan of a person and determines to manage to avoid as many deaths as possible for him.
The computer and the player control several units in the game, formed from one leader and two other supporting characters. Between the battle in the game, the player can traverse various districts in Tokyo to either take part in "free battles," discover new information or encourage the plot by talking to specific characters. And, this can improve the player's experience and skills. In the Combat gameplay mode, the player controls up to four teams, each led by one of the leading human characters, including supporting units, the summoned demons. Here, most of the opponents faced are either demon tamer with their summoned monsters or squads of demons.
