It is a racing video game released in 2007 and sequel to the Sonic Rivals. Sonic can't seem to catch a breath as he is back with another racing game. In this game, he has to be fast and win the race defeating the enemies, rivals, and hurdles along the tracks. Eight characters are divided into four teams: Sonic and Tails, Shadow and Metal Sonic, Silver and Espio, Knuckles and Rouge. At the start of the game, the player selects the team, and each character follows a story. Each of them has unique abilities. Metal Sonic does not have his extraordinary power; instead, he pulls out a Mokujin and copies the rivals' skills against racing. Six worlds range from a haunted house to a casino, and each comprises two races, a battle and a boss fight. The focus of the game is on speed and to beat the rival to the finish line. Sonic Rivals 2 is a game that the fans of the series will enjoy. The race levels are enjoyable along with the boss fight, and the multiplayer options are like icing on top of the cake.

Game Plot

In the game, the Chao have disappeared, and Sonic and Miles go on an adventure to find them. Eggman Nega steals them and stores them in a haunted mansion. He wants to feed the Chao to a beast known as Ifrit, to destroy the world. However, to open the gateway to the Ifrit's world, he needs the seven Chaos. He hires Rouge, the Bat, in secret, to collect the Chaos Emeralds. Knuckles the Echidna teams up with Rouge to find the Master emerald. Silver hedgehog who comes back from the future world destroyed by Ifrit searches and steals the remaining Chao. Espio and Silverworks together to save the world. Dr Eggman tells Metal Sonic about Nega's plan and sends him to find Shadow. All the teams meet up to defeat the Ifrit.

• Ad-hoc Multiplayer
  With ad-hoc WIFI, the player can play the game with a friend who has a copy of the game. The battle mode in the multiplayer mode has six types of battles. Even the cards that the player earns in the single-player mode can be traded in the multiplayer. 
  
  
• Unlockable Cup Events
  Besides the story mode, there are also unlockable cup events in the game. There is also a free-play mode in which the player searches for hidden animals known as Chao.
  
  
• Presentation and Music
  It is a great-looking game with zero graphical glitches and top-notch music. The voice of each of the characters is astonishingly well.
