Mortal Kombat: Armageddon generally received a favorable response from the critics. The game was regularly applauded all over the world. IGN expressed that "the addition of a total of 62 fighters is a big achievement," while Game Informer said that "nothing truly approaches what Midway has put together here." Gameplay

Players select one of the warriors and fight with different warriors to determine the Mortal Kombat universe's destiny. They can also create a custom character using the "Kreate a Fighter" mode. Each character has two different fighting styles; one hand-to-hand and one weapon. Some of the more prominent fighters, such as Onaga, have just one battling style available. Like Smoke and Mokap, other characters don't have a weapon style, yet a second unarmed style.
