It is a side-scrolling run and gun video game released in 2004 by SNK Playmore for the game boy advance. The game consists of side-scrolling shooting action, artistic flair and a pinch of humour, and comic-style loads. The player has a choice to play a male or female role; Walter or Tyra. For new Peregrine Falcon recruits, a survival training camp has just begun, where the recruits have to survive on an unnamed island with limited goods and weapons. However, a large blimp starts to float above the island, and General Morden's troops come down and try to build a new base, and capture many of the recruits. Players play as a recruit as either Tyra or Walter. Now it's up to the surviving recruits to rid the surviving camp of the enemies.
The gameplay is quite similar to the Metal Slug game series, but with two new systems: the life system, and the card system. The life system shows a life bar for the player. As players get hit or take damage, the life bar reduces. Players can replenish health if they collect food items and instantly die if they get crushed or fall into a pit. The Card system is a collection of card parts of the game. Players can find these cards if they shoot certain parts of the background, or obtain them from certain hostages. Each card has different purposes: giving detailed information on characters or items and unlocking unique slugs. There are 100 cards, and if the players defeat the final boss, then the mission is to collect all the cards. This game is quite tricky and challenging as compared to the previous instalments.
