Tetris ROM Download for NES

Tetris, released in the year 1984 is a tile-matching video game which is created by a Russian software engineer Alexey Pajitnov for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The players in Tetris try to complete lines by placing and moving the different types of pieces, namely tetrominoes, which descend to the playing area. Once the player completes one line, it disappears and grants points for them. Also, the player can continue playing to fill the vacated space in the playing field. The game comes to an end only when this field is full of pieces.

The player aims to delay the outcome of where the field becomes full and score the highest by prolonging. But, if you are playing in the multiplayer mode, then you, the player, must try to last longer than your opponents. Additionally, in specific game versions, the players can cause penalties on competitors by finishing a significant number of lines in the game. The speed of the pieces descending increases according to the level and version the player plays and this gives them significantly less time to think about where to place the piece.

Similar Games

After playing Tetris ROM games, you might even like playing other similar games. I have listed down a few.

  1. Tetris & Dr Mario
Tetris & Dr Mario is an upgraded version of the remake of Tetris and Dr Mario, having both split-screen multiplayer mode and a Mixed Match mode that changes between the two games. It is a puzzle video game, and both games have different gameplay goals. Here in the Tetris, players must complete the lines by pieces without making any holes and in Dr Mario, players should use coloured pills to overcome the viruses scattered all around the playfield.

  2. Tetris Attack
Tetris Attack is different from the rest of the Tetris games as here, and the player needs to arrange and match the same coloured pieces in a horizontal or vertical row to clear them and earn points. The blocks firmly progress towards the top of the playfield, where new blocks are added at the bottom. The game features some mythical fairies as the main characters and with a fantasy setting—the game also has various gameplay like multiplayer mode and mainly a time attack.

  3. Same Games
The game is displayed on a rectangular field, which is filled initially with four or five varieties of blocks arranged at random. By choosing a combination of joining blocks of the same colour, a player can eliminate them from the screen. The blocks which do not support will eventually fall down and will crop off the remaining column. The game intends to eliminate as many blocks as possible from the playing field.
