Sonic Colors is an instalment in the Sonic the Hedgehog series and a platform video game which is published by Sega, released in the year 2010. The game follows the quest of Sonic to prevent his enemy Doctor Eggman from controlling an alien race and taking over their world.

Game Plot

The game, Sonic Colors is set in outer space, where the player controls Sonic the Hedgehog, whose aim is to rescue Wisps, and also, he maintains most of his powers from Sonic Unleashed. Additionally, the game introduces a new feature like Wisp power-ups, which the player can use to boost attack power and enables him to enter new areas. There are eight different types of Wisps, each of them with unique ability according to its colour. 

Just like in earlier games, Sonic collects golden rings that shield him from a single hit by an opponent or barrier, though they will scatter and shine before fading. When the game starts, Sonic has only a limited number of lives, and if he gets hit when he doesn't have a ring, then he would lose one life.
